I just started playing. Does going through the doors with the Save symbol above them save the game? If not, how to I activate those save points?

currently fighting first boss in the throne room. I've gotten her down to the last 1/4th on my best attempt.

I BEAT THE REGULAR ENDING YAY

So I'm currently replaying this to get to the sacred grounds and get the polar star upgrade, and collecting the dogs without the Machine Guns flying ability is significantly harder

Maybe you should get the Snake instead, and then instead on your third playthrough get the Spur.

I highly recommend the snake. level 3 snake is only secondary to level 1 nemesis imo.

Also, the Snake would be better if the range was higher. Also, the Spur becomes far superior to the Snake later on in the game.

are you kidding? I thought the snake had great range. and I've played with the spur before.

Cave Story, the popular indie game that made it to Wii, and DSi-Ware, is coming to the 3DS. This was announced just yesterday at the NIS America Conference.

"At NIS America's annual press event, I had a chance to take a look at Cave Story's new 3D rendition, though it was a very early version lacking stereoscopic 3D, sound, lighting, speed, and even 3D character models. The new 3D environments were available, as well as the new camera system.

Though Cave Story's gameplay remains in 2D, the previously flat plane has been mapped onto splines, so the caves now curve as you travel through them, and the 3D capabilities should not go to waste. The new locale renditions are really beautiful. The artists took the original maps from Cave Story and drew over top of them in order to maintain the exact positions of the original, but with a vivid new look. The 3D artists have adapted this new vision into a 2.5D environment.

Underneath the shiny new skin, it's still very much Cave Story; as of now, everything other than the level environments is copied directly from the earlier versions, and behind the scenes, it's still running the old 2D engine. Though the version I played was early, most of the art and 3D modeling work is done, and the developers say they are on track for a summer 2011 release. I'm looking forward to seeing more."

I don't think Cave Story needs to be for 3DS. It definitely didn't need to be for Wii.

I've only played it for PC. But Damn Golly I'm getting it for the 3DS. I'm not getting a 3DS till klik gets one.

I got the Good and the Bed Ending, I still didn't get the Perfect Ending though!
