as far as wide-appeal movies go, Avatar and Titanic aren't bad at all
they're pretty much even level with The Avengers, Harry Potter, etc
and a shitload better than Transformers 3, Pirates of the Carribean, The Phantom Menace, Alice in Wonderland, etc

Avatar is not on an even level with the avengers and harry potter. Avatar is the most overrated movie ever.

it's pretty much on level
it's not a "great" movie but it's a good action blockbuster and preferable to a Transformers-type movie
maybe a little worse than The Avengers or the better HP movies but not by too much
i don't have too much of a problem with it being the highest grossing movie
