Homemegaman universe has a level editor, people can share user created levels, and you can play as ryu. plus, megaman legends 3 has been confirmed for the 3DS. no official release date for either of these.

most mega man games are hard. ten had an easy mode, methinks. probably the first Megaman game to do so.

I just beat megaman vs ghosts n goblins today.
I can't get megaman vs Metroid beat though because samus is a really flippin hard boss.
